I made this track in my Newton apartment shortly after I put the synth rig together in 1985. The goal was to explore how I could use all the digital circuits I built into the modular (e.g., rate multipliers, ring counters, dividers, etc.) to make a simple oscillator tone come alive with dense, shifting timbres (I drove the logic inputs of these modules with signals derived from different clocks). I loved the resulting sound, and still use these techniques to thicken simple synth sounds and make them dynamic.
