about

This is the second in the series of 'Synth Utopia' releases, which consist of autonomous modular synthesizer patch compositions I've made over the past decade having something of a positive nature. It took between several hours and several days to hone each of these patches, then they were recorded live off of the synthesizer once I was finished tweaking them. There is no actual human 'performance' here, excepting the live crowdsourced input used on Track 4 - what you hear is what my synth system did on its own within the confines of my patches. Several of them ran in public installations that streamed worldwide for weeks. More info on the synthesizer system that I designed and used here can be found at synth.media.mit.edu and paradiso.media.mit.edu/synth.html.
