about

I made this track in my Newton living-room studio in 1985 for a student dance performance at Tufts. It features the speech synthesizer both as a keyboard sound in the middle (it could track an oscillator pitch as it had a phase-locked loop built into it) and as an effect at the end (if you turned the pitch of a vowel down very low, it made a beautifully creepy rumbling). Plus, of course, the modified VL-Tone and rhythm/effects from the modular.
