I recorded these two conjoined pieces as part of a large 'epic' I put together during the sessions in the WMFO studio in winter 1973/74, when I had just turned 18. No synthesizer yet - just the modified Gibson organ, the bandpass filter 'Leslie' effect, a modified Wah pedal, and a signal generator we had at the Station that could be switched between perfect intervals (not to mention the Allen Wrench percussion). The first portion is a chaotic varispeed mix of everything, heavily influenced by Zappa's noise/concrete pieces in his early albums. I really couldn't play keyboards then, but they are fortunately peripheral here.

The second part was a 'mysterious' thing I hit on one evening with the signal generator going through some kind of modified pedal that distorted it, adding also a bit of echo - it made me think of a surreal 'foxhunt' then. I ran an overdub with the signal generator making clicks that I ran through the bandpass filter, plus some low-frequency oscillator bleating, and there you have it...
